Congratulations to all our Baby Friendly Hospitals! Wellstar Cobb Hospital is the newest hospital in Georgia to achieve Baby Friendly Designation- good news for moms and babies. Other Baby Friendly designated hospitals include: DeKalb Women’s Medical Center (1st in Georgia to be Baby Friendly), Emory Midtown Hospital, Doctors Hospital/Augusta, Grady Hospital, and Piedmont Henry Hospital.
Governor Nathan Deal proclaimed August as Georgia Breastfeeding Month on August 4, 2016. This proclamation was celebrated at the capitol by breastfeeding advocates and families from around the state, organized by the Georgia Breastfeeding Coalition. See the 2016 Proclamation here.
