The Georgia Breastfeeding Coalition is looking for committee members to help us achieve our mission of protecting, promoting and supporting breastfeeding in Georgia. We have several working committees that need motivated members from across Georgia:
Outreach: This committee's mission is to support and grow breastfeeding in all areas of Georgia, particularly through restarting and supporting local and regional coalitions. Initiatives may include creating coalition toolkits, funding regional breastfeeding projects, recognizing and connecting lactation support and leaders, and promoting Zipmilk to connect breastfeeding support with Georgia families.
Policy & Advocacy: This committee's mission is to promote and protect breastfeeding through policy change and advocacy. We are passionate about advocating that all Georgia families have equitable access to what they need to be successful in breastfeeding including clinical lactation care and breast pumps. The GBC is also advocating for the creation of a non-profit milk bank in Georgia.
Fundraising: We need committee members to help with increasing sponsorship for our annual fundraiser with the Northwest Georgia Breastfeeding Coalition, the "Express Your Superpower 5K/10K" in Canton, Georgia. https://nwgabfcoalition.com/express-your-superpower-5k/
Communications, Social Media & Website: We are always looking for savvy committee members to help us create content and maintain a social media and internet presence!
Are there any qualifications for committee members? Just a passion for promoting breastfeeding in Georgia! This is not limited to lactation consultants or people who specifically work in breastfeeding.
